Puig has developed the new Z-Racing screen for the KTM 990 RC with a much more aggressive and sporty design than the original screen, incorporating the characteristic “Z”-shaped styling language that identifies the brand’s Racing range. Its design integrates perfectly with the motorcycle’s front end, reinforcing the radical and competitive image of the new Austrian sportbike.

The screen preserves the racing DNA of the KTM 990 RC while significantly improving aerodynamic protection thanks to its increased dimensions and height compared with the original component. The Z-shaped side channels redirect airflow towards the sides, moving it away from the rider and improving riding comfort without significantly affecting the overall aerodynamic coefficient.

In addition, its visual integration maintains the aesthetic harmony of the front end and creates a sharper, sportier and more technological appearance, further enhancing the motorcycle’s racing character. It is available in clear, light smoke, dark smoke, gloss black, matte black, orange and carbon-look finishes.

The Z-Racing range has been developed to offer greater aerodynamic efficiency compared with each motorcycle’s original windscreen. Its design is analyzed using a virtual wind tunnel to optimize the aerodynamic coefficient (Cx) and reduce air pressure on the rider.

Thanks to its double-height design, the windscreen deflects the airflow that would otherwise directly hit the helmet and upper torso. In addition, its two side channels collect and direct the air outwards, helping to reduce pressure on the rider’s shoulders. Compared with the original windscreen, Z-Racing windscreens offer an average aerodynamic improvement of 12.7% in an upright riding position and up to 61% in a racing riding position.

Designed and manufactured in Barcelona using advanced technologies, they are made from 3 mm thick high-impact acrylic, resulting in a strong, lightweight and durable product. Their rounded edge of more than 2 mm meets the safety requirements established by the German TÜV.

During the manufacturing process, Puig uses a machine vision system for quality control to ensure that every windscreen reaches the customer in perfect condition.

Z-Racing windscreens are available in a wide variety of colors, allowing riders to customize the appearance of their motorcycle according to their preferences.

Installation is simple and does not require additional elements such as edging. Each windscreen comes with a detailed aerodynamic study showing the improvements achieved compared with the original configuration.
